Android users has started receiving incognito mode update for Google maps. This feature enhances the privacy when you don’t want your activity to be saved in Google account.
Google uses the user’s searches and location to provide the personalized suggestion. This is really an useful feature offered by Google. For example, when we visit a place which is not familiar Google uses your location to provide the better hotels near to you. But there are some situations when we don’t want our searches to be saved. It’s can either personal or professional or whatever it is. To overcome this, Google has provided the feature called incognito mode in chrome. When you have enabled this, your searches will not be saved. So you will not be seeing the personalised searches all over the internet which actually you don’t want. But keep in mind, incognito mode will not hide your searches from internet provider or other Google services. It will just hide the searches from you, your surroundings. And you will not be seeing suggestions based on the incognito searches.
There may be a situations, when you don’t want searches to be saved in Google maps or you want to hide your Google maps search history from others. Or may be you don’t wanna see the Google suggestions all over the internet based on your Google maps searches. For this, Google has introduced incognito mode in Google maps as well for Android as part of latest update. It’s similar to incognito mode in Google chrome. But even when you are in incognito mode your searches can be tracked by your internet provider and other Google services.
As per Google, some of the Google maps feature will not be available in incognito mode.
