Stable MIUI 11 update getting rolled out for Redmi K20 in India


Tech giant Xiaomi has announced during Redmi note 8 pro launch event that Redmi K20 will get the MIUI 11 update. As promised, now the Redmi K20 is featured to be the first phone in India to get the MIUI 11 stable update. It is worth to note, Redmi K20 pro will start receiving the MIUI 11 update in the first week of November.

What’s new in MIUI 11 update?

As always, MIUI 11 has packed with many new exciting features. Beebom has already discussed more of the feature of MIUI 11. Here are the some important and exciting features for you.

  • Mi share is been included in the update which helps in transferring files faster.
  • Customized Ambient display : Last year MI has announced the new feature of always-on display. To bring this feature to the next step, now more customization option of animated clocks,Colorful backgrounds, adding your own moving quotes and much more is been added. If you don’t want to enable this always-on feature in the consideration of battery, you can go for Notification light up option which glow up the light at the corners of display when new notifications comes in.
  • Ultra battery saver mode to restrict the resource consuming backgrounds process to extend the battery longevity,
  • Advanced file manager : With the advancement to its native file manager, MIUI 11 has came up with advanced file manager. Here it provides the support to open the files of any format directly without using the additional app.
  • Camera’s Mimoji : Now in MIUI 11, Mimoji is embedded to the camera app itself. So there is no need to go for additional app. Using Mimoji, you can create the animated emoji of yourself.
  • Dynamic video wallpapers : Now MIUI 11 has provided the option to set up the dynamic video wallpaper for both lock screen and home screen.
  • Activity tracker : MIUI 11 is coming now with the in-built feature of activity tracker just like google fit app. It can track and record your steps based on the walking pattern.
  • Digital well being : MIUI 11 is now coming with digital well being feature to limit the amount of time spent on phone. You will be given with an option to restrict the notification of the app after particular condition.
  • Enhanced notifications: MIUI 11 is packed up with enhanced notification option. This allows you to attend call, message in Whatsapp without being move out from your current app.

Xiaomi has already shared the roadmap for MIUI 11 update. Let’s checkout whether your phone is in the list.

  • Phase 1 : From Oct 22 to Oct 31 following popular MI phones will receive the update – Redmi K20, Redmi Y3, Redmi Note 7S, Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Poco F1 and Redmi 7.
  • Phase 2 : From November 4 to till November 12 Redmi its is decided to rollout the MIUI 11 update for K20 Pro, Note 5, Redmi 4, Redmi Y2, Mi Mix 2, Mi Max 2, Redmi Y2, Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi 5A, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6, Redmi Note 5 Pro.
  • Phase 3 : From November 13 Phones like Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A, Redmi 7A and Redmi Note 6 Pro will be excepted for the release.
  • In the last phase of 2019, Redmi Note 8 Pro will get the update.
